Joe Denly called up to England Test squad

Kent's Joe Denly has been called up to the England Test squad for the series in Sri Lanka.

Denly is part of the 16-man squad for the three match series that starts in November.

It is the first Test call-up for the 32-year-old following a successful season in all three formats.

He has scored 798 runs in the Specsavers County Championship this season at an average of 36.27 helping Kent to promotion from Division 2.

He has hit three hundreds and three 50s in 13 matches and has also 20 wickets to his name at an average of 18.90.

Surrey opener Rory Burns and Warwickshire seamer Olly Stone also receive their first called up to the Test squad.
