Dobson quits as England women's head coach

FORMER Kent cricketer Mark Dobson has tendered his resignation as head coach to the England Women’s side.

Dobson has left their tour of Australia and New Zealand to return home to Canterbury.

An England and Wales Cricket Board statement said Dobson had left for personal reasons and went having apologised to the England team for leaving mid-tour and wishings them every success for their remaining matches

On the field, England women lost Monday’s final one-day international with Australia at the SCG in Sydney to share the series 2-2.

England, who are skippered by Hartley Invica batsman Charlotte Edwards, twice lead in the series but a 41-run defeat in the series decider led to a share of the spoils. The team take on Australia on a one-off Ashses Test starting in Sydney on Friday, February 15.
