Kent have revealed England Women will start their 2025 English international summer in Canterbury.
England Women will be returning to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, as they take on The West Indies under lights in international T20 action on Wednesday, May 21.
It will be the third England Women international T20 match hosted at The Spitfire Ground after England faced India in 2012 and, more recently, New Zealand at a sold-out Spitfire Ground when the hosts won by six wickets in the final over last month.
Spinner Sophie Ecclestone (4-25) was the pick of the England bowlers as New Zealand captain Sophie Devine's unbeaten 58 from 42 balls led New Zealand to 141-8.
In response, opening bowler Fran Jonas took 2-23 but Alice Capsey's 67 not out off 60 balls saw England across the line with four balls to spare.
Kent chief executive Simon Storey said: “We’re delighted to be hosting another Women’s international T20 match in Canterbury in 2025.
“This summer’s sold-out England match at The Spitfire Ground against New Zealand was a fantastic evening and shows the growing demand for women’s cricket.
“This is another opportunity to watch international sport at The Spitfire Ground and help inspire the next generation of Kent and England cricketers.”
The series will include a further two international T20s before the sides play in three Metro Bank One-Day International matches.
West Indies Women have played at The Spitfire Ground once before when they faced England in a Women’s Test in June 1979.
The ticket ballot for the match will open on Thursday and will stay open until Tuesday, September 24.
Successful ballot entries will be notified by Thursday, September 26 before they go on general sale on Thursday, October 10.
Further ticket information is set to follow on Kent’s website in due course.
