KENT’S match-winning spinner Muttiah Muralitharan will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Sunday’s National League Division 1 relegation decider against Warwickshire.

The Sri Lankan missed this week’s championship match with a slight groin strain having taken 33 wickets in his five appearances since joining Kent as replacement for Mohammad Sami.

Spitfires will hope to have Muralitharan fit to take his place in a full-strength side for the high noon start against Kent’s limited overs bogey side of the 1990s.

"It’s odd how many of our crucial one-day games have involved them," said skipper David Fulton looking ahead to Sunday’s clash with the Bears. We’re not getting too hung up on Warwickshire because we know if we play at our best we can beat anyone in the land.

"It’s in our hands now and we will go into the game with a must-win mentality."
