All-rounder Jaydn Denly has become the latest home-grown Kent prospect to commit their future to the county.
Kent confirmed Denly has signed a new three-year contract in the same week 19-year-old Ekansh Singh has also done so.
The news came on Thursday - one week after Jaydn’s uncle, Joe Denly, had penned a new Kent deal.
Denly, who turns 20 in January, said: “Kent is my club and I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of breaking into the first-team here.
“It’s now time for me to push on, continue my development with the coaches here and, hopefully, make some big contributions next summer and beyond.”
Denly graduated from Kent’s Academy in 2023 and has made 37 first-team appearances, scoring more than 1,000 Kent runs and taking 23 wickets.
A left-handed batsman and left-arm orthodox spinner, he has also made multiple appearances for England under-19s in his career.
His current Kent-best of 91 came in this summer’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup in a 22-run victory against Lancashire at Beckenham.
Margate-born Denly won his first Kent young player-of-the-year gong at their end-of-season awards night at The Spitfire Ground in Canterbury.
Kent director of cricket Simon Cook said: “Jaydn has done extremely well to command a first-team place and he has shown great versatility with where he can bat in the order.
“As well as his batting and his bowling, he’s a good asset for us in the field and is showing all the hallmarks of becoming one of those players that can excel in all three disciplines.
“We hope that he continues his development this coming summer as more first-team opportunities arise.”
Denly's dad, Sam, is Whitstable CC first-team captain, having previously been involved in football management at Herne Bay and Hythe Town.
