Teenage Kent batting all-rounder Ekansh Singh has signed a new three-year contract.
Home-grown prospect Singh, 19, made his full debut against Somerset in their 2024 Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign and has made 22 county appearances in his career, scoring 640 runs and taking five wickets.
Singh made his first-class debut Kent against Glamorgan in May and scored his current-best of 71 against Derbyshire in September during a season-ending County Championship Division 2 innings defeat.
He scored a Youth Test century for England under-19s against India at Chelmsford, scoring 117 from 155 balls, with fellow Kent youngster Ben Dawkins also scoring a century in the same match in July.
“I was extremely proud to make my first-class debut for my boyhood club this year - but this is just the start for me,” said Orpington-born Singh.
“I hope to learn a lot from the more experienced guys here as I work to secure a first-team place in all formats going forward.”
Director of cricket Simon Cook added: “We’re in a great position where we have multiple young home-grown talents making the step up to competitive first-team cricket.
“Ekansh is a gifted young player with great technique in the way he goes about his innings - he has the potential to be a big player for us in the future, as well as making contributions now.”
He will be available for the county in all formats around his studies at the University of Durham in 2026 and will be available for selection as much as he can be during term time before full availability in July and August.
Singh joins namesake Jas Singh, Italian international all-rounder Grant Stewart and the vastly-experienced Joe Denly, who have penned new Kent deals this month.
