A2 shut between A2018 Old Bexley Lane and Darenth Interchange after serious motorbike crash

An air ambulance was called to the scene of a serious motorbike crash.

The A2 was blocked in both directions from A2018 Old Bexley Lane, Dartford, to junction 2 for the M25, Darenth Interchange, close to the approach for the Dartford Crossing.

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 4.50pm to a report of a serious collision involving two motorbikes.

“Officers attended along with highway patrols and paramedics.

“The road remains closed while the incident is being responded to.”

Severe delays are being reported, and National Highways is advising anyone in the area to allow for extra time when travelling.

Traffic heading London-bound has now been released, however, the coast-bound side will remain closed for collision investigation for several hours.

The ambulance service has been contacted for further details.
