Four fire engines sent to Dartford Heath blaze

Fire crews were called into action after an area of undergrowth the size of two tennis courts went up in flames this evening.

Four engines were sent to Dartford Heath, off Oakfield Lane, at about 6.20pm following reports of a blaze covering 500 square metres.

Firefighters used hoses and beaters to extinguish the flames, bringing the incident to a close at about 7.40pm.

There were no reported injuries.

No details have been released about the cause of the fire.
