Two men with knives steal cash and cigarettes from Longfield Post Office

Two men threatened staff and customers at knife point before stealing cash and cigarettes from a post office.

Police officers remain at the scene of the armed robbery at Longfield Post Office in Station Road, which happened at about 6am this morning.

Two men brandishing knives were reported to have made off with cash and cigarettes, while money was also taken from two shoppers.

The post office was reopened at midday today.

Detectives are investigating and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The suspects, both described as white and wearing hooded tops and scarves to conceal their identities,

Police spokesman Andy Saunders said: "No arrests have been made but officers remain at the scene."
