Arsonist sets alight a wheelie bin and a skip full of rubbish in Dartford

An arsonist set two fires within half-an-hour of each other during the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters from Dartford were first called to Phoenix Place in the town, at about 2.30am where they found a wheelie bin full of rubbish had been torched.

The crew spent about 10 minutes putting out the flames.

Then at about 3am they were called to the nearby Fairfield Leisure Centre, in Lowfield Street, where a skip full of rubbish had been set alight in the car park.

Crews are linking the two incidents and say the fires were started deliberately.
