Following a short search, LLoyd Mosengo was found crouching behind a parked vehicle.

He was detained, searched and found to have gloves, a balaclava and a quantity of cash in his shoulder bag.

The constables also recovered two pairs of gloves, a safe and two carrier bags full of coins nearby.

Inquiries in the area identified that a restaurant in the town centre had been broken into.

Mosengo, of Chancellor Way, Dagenham, Greater London, was later charged with burglary.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.

A second man in his 30s, who was also arrested in connection with the investigation, was later released pending further investigation.
