Car fire and crash causing delays on M25

Emergency services were called to two incidents on the M25 this morning.

A crash closed the eastbound carriageway, but it was opened again not long after.

Police were called at 8.32am and people suffered minor injuries.

But motorists were also stopped travelling towards London as two lanes were closed due to a car fire.

Fire crews helped with two casualties, who were passed into the care of ambulance paramedics.

Traffic built up between junction 2 for the A2 Darenth Interchange and J1B Dartford.

Congestion stretched halfway back to J3 for the Swanley Interchange.

The road had reopened by 10.30am.
