Car fire in Donkey Lane, Farningham

Firefighters had to navigate a narrow country lane last night to attend a car fire.

Crews from Dartford were called to Donkey Lane, Farningham, just after 8.30pm following reports of a vehicle ablaze.

The car was found unattended in the middle of the lane.

Crews wore breathing apparatus as they extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet.

It took the team around 30 minutes to clear the incident, with one member reporting the unidentified vehicle had been "completely destroyed".

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Police have been alerted and the incident is being treated as suspicious.
