James Martin opens BBC Good Food Spring Show, Bluewater

Thousands of food lovers are expected to flock to Bluewater over the next few days after the BBC Good Food Show Spring opened its doors this morning.

Celebrity chef James Martin (pictured) cut the ribbon to officially open the event which will feature some of the best food around, and an abundance of famous faces.

Visitors will be treated to more than 100 producers, recipe inspiration with live demonstrations from chefs including James Martin and Gino D’Acampo and question and answer sessions with some of the greatest names in the business.

The show will run through to Sunday and will host an array of celebrity appearances including James Martin, John Torode, Gregg Wallace, MasterChef Champion 2012 Shelina Permalloo, MasterChef Champion 2011 Tim Anderson, Great British Bake Off Champion 2011 Joanne Wheatley, Olly Smith, The Fabulous Baker Brothers, Lisa Faulkner, Gennaro Contaldo, Thomasina Miers and many many more.

James Martin said: "What a fantastic day! There are so many keen foodies watching the demos and discovering foods from around the world, including one exhibitor selling sauces from Burma. Plus, of course, there's the fantastic range of Kent produce on offer; I’ve seen cider, ice cream, pickles and English sparkling wine - magnificent!"
