A fast food chain is opening it's first Kent store this half-term.

From Saturday, shoppers at Bluewater in Greenhithe will be able to try the flavours of Arkansas at Slim Chickens.

The brand focuses on high quality, fast-turnaround food and already has restaurants in London, Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham.

Slim Chickens is known for its buttermilk-marinated, hand-breaded chicken.

The menu will feature a selection of 14 dipping sauces including garlic parmesan, honey BBQ and a new sweet chilli sauce only available until March.

Guests can also choose from a selection of five signature sides and treat themselves to hand-spun shakes.

Head of operations at Slim Chickens, Richard Pigott said: "The positive reaction we have received to Slim Chickens from customers across the country has been phenomenal so we’re really excited to be opening in Bluewater."

From testing chicken recipes in a garage, Tom Gordon and Greg Smart went on to open the first Slim Chickens in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2003.

Over a decade and thousands of happy guests later, the business has grown to more than 80 sites in the US alone.
