The Dartford tunnel was partially closed after a breakdown this afternoon.

Traffic is backed up to Swanley on the M25 as the east-bore of the tunnel was shut off because of a broken down vehicle between J1A A Erith and J31 West Thurrock.

Update 3.20pm: All lanes have now been reopened.

The closed tunnel was the higher of the two, so only vehicles at or under 4.8 metres high could pass through, all others were being diverted.
