The road was closed for more than 12 hours as the emergency services dealt with the accident involving a silver Vauxhall Astra.

Now Mercedes driver Andre Robinson, 39, is to stand trial in March accused of causing the two deaths by driving carelessly.

Robinson, of Bruges Court, Kemsley, near Sittingbourne, pleaded not guilty to two charges.

The trial, which is expected to last up to five days, will be heard at Maidstone Crown Court.

Seven vehicles were involved in a collision on the London-bound carriageway near Swanley on November 20, 2018, leaving a further six people injured.

The Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene.
