Easter egg appeal by Dartford care home

When a cheeky care home chicken devoured the Easter egg hunt chocolate, she felt so bad she vowed to make amends.

Greenhithe's Haslington Lodge Care Home's resident hen has devised a plan to gather some 500 chocolate eggs to dish out to local emergency services and the homeless in repentance.

She is now appealing to the community for help to bring a little joy this Easter.

Sally Ann Briggs, manager at Haslington Lodge Care Home, said: “With Easter just round the corner we thought we’d do something to bring a little joy to our community by saying thank you to the men and women who make up our emergency services and those in the community who find themselves in a less fortunate position.

"It would really make our day if we could make this happen. If the community got behind us we know we could."

Any donation can be dropped off securely to the care home in Bean Road, Greenhithe - use postcode DA9 9JB to find it on your sat nav.
