Five people were taken into custody after a police chase yesterday night.

Officers chased a transit van after the vehicle reportedly failed to stop, before going after its occupants on foot, through Dartford.

The men were eventually arrested near the A2, Old Bexley Lane, Bexley.

Kent Police spokesman, Sally Smith, said: "A 16-year-old, two men aged 20, a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old have been arrested in connection with burglary, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and theft of a vehicle.

"They have been released under investigation."
