The 31-year-old, who played Steven Beale between 2007 and 2017, took to Instagram to warn his followers.

He said: "I was walking back from the gym, same way I go every single day and some little kid just like pulled a bread knife out on me.

"Like what are you doing? You live in Kent, the Garden of England you little **** – why are you walking around with a bread knife?

"Some friends on here, you follow me in the area so just be aware of kids with bread knives around Darenth Country Park."

The West End showman recently starred in the Gravesend pantomime production of Beauty and The Beast and is a former pupil of Kingswood Primary School near Maidstone.

He dismissed his attacker as a "stupid, wannabe gangster" who was probably "on half term and a little bit bored".

The Dartford resident was quick to reassure his followers that he had escaped unscathed from the incident, adding "guys thanks for your tweets I'm absolutely fine".
