A girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Dartford.

The accident happened in Trevithick Drive just before 2.30pm and the road was closed between Joyce Green Lane and Hall Road while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Steve Knight, spokesman for police said: "Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the pedestrian was taken to a London hospital for further treatment. Her injuries are not reported to be life-threatening.

The road was closed until around 4.20pm.
