M25 anticlockwise delays after crash by Swanley Interchange

There a huge tailbacks on the M25 after a four-vehicle crash.

A van and three cars collided between Junction 3 for the M20, Swanley Interchange, and Junction 2 for the A2 of the anticlockwise carriageway just before 4pm.

Police were called and traffic officers have blocked the road to assist with the accident, spread across lanes one, three and four.

Clockwise traffic was also slow due to people looking at what has happened and there was congestion past Junction 4 Orpington.

A police spokesman said: " Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service are currently at the scene where one person is reporting injuries.

"The carriageway remains closed while emergency services are dealing with the incident and motorists may wish to consider alternative routes."

By 5pm the road had reopened but delays are likely to persist into the evening.
