Tortoises stolen from Colt Stead, New Ash Green

The hunt is on to find five tortoises stolen from the same home.

The tortoises, which are classed as endangered, were taken from an outbuilding in Colt Stead, New Ash Green, sometime between Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21.

Officers investigating the theft have issued images of the animals as part of their efforts to get them back.

Two are radiated tortoises, one is a spider tortoise and the other two are Egyptian tortoises.

One of them is pregnant and due to lay eggs very soon.

Residents in the area with doorbell cameras, or other CCTV security devices, are being asked to check for any footage which may help.

Motorists with dashcam, who live nearby, are also being asked to check for any evidence of suspicious activity.
