Travel delays at Dartford Crossing due to 'emergency services incident'

All lanes are now open on the Dartford Crossing following an "emergency services incident".

All traffic was being held on the M25 clockwise at 10.25am, according to National Highways, due to a "police incident".

But, in a tweet shortly before 11am, the authority shared an update, saying: "Lanes one and two are closed on the Dartford Crossing due to an ongoing emergency services incident. Thank you again for your patience."

It added: "There are currently delays of 45 minutes above the usual travel time on approach to this incident, with five miles of congestion back to Junction 29.

"Please allow extra time for your journey, should you be travelling in the area."

However, at 12.20pm, it confirmed that all lanes had reopened on the crossing and travel delays of up to 90 minutes were expected to ease.

The nature of the incident is not yet known.
