A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash on a motorway.

The incident took place at Junction 3 of the M25 at the Swanley Interchange just before 6am.

The M25 clockwise exit fast slip road to the M20 was shut, but the second exit onto the roundabout, which also joins the M20, was unaffected.

There were two miles of congestion back to the Dartford Crossing and Lakeside in Essex.

A police spokesperson has confirmed a car collided with the central reservation on the slip road.

Officers and paramedics attended and a woman in her 50s was taken to hospital.

Her injuries were not life-threatening and the scene is now clear.
