Crash in Dartford Tunnel results in five miles of queuing traffic on M25

There are long queues on the M25 after an accident in the Dartford Tunnel this afternoon.

The left-hand tunnel had to be closed following the collision at about 2.50pm.

Two lanes were shut and the congestion on the anti-clockwise carriageway stretched back to before Junction 2.

Traffic was held while the vehicles involved were moved.

The tunnel reopened at about 3.20pm.

Despite the accident having been cleared, there was queuing traffic for five miles.
