Lorry hits rail bridge at Bexley

Kent commuters faced rail delays this morning after a truck struck a bridge.

The articulated lorry was jammed under a railway bridge in Bexley.

Southeastern warned train services between Bexley and Dartford were being diverted to avoid the area "until further notice."

London buses were accepting train tickets at Bexleyheath, Erith, Woolwich, Lewisham and Catford.

The A223 High Street was closed in both directions from Manor Road to A222 Bexley High Street following the collision.

It caused congestion to main routes through Coldblow, to Crayford and Bexleyheath and onto the A2 at Dartford Heath.

The line at Bexley has been reopened but services continue to be disrupted.
