Dartford lorry crash closes two lanes of M25 clockwise at QE2 bridge

Traffic is easing on the M25 after a crash involving a car and a lorry left the Dartford crossing at a standstill.

Several hours after the collision on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge this afternoon, traffic was still queuing for about eight miles on the M25 clockwise between Junction 31 for Lakeside and Junction 1A for Dartford.

Two of the road's four lanes were closed while the incident was dealt with, but the vehicles involved have been moved to a place of safety and all lanes are now open.

Essex Police was called to the scene at about 2.10pm, but the Highways Agency soon confirmed there were no injuries and that their attendance was not needed.
