M25 closed after lorry collides with barriers near Dartford

The M25 was closed this afternoon after a crash involving a lorry between Junction 2 at Darenth Interchange and J1A near the Dartford Crossing.

Emergency services blocked the road following the incident in which a lorry collided with motorway barriers.

Lanes have since been reopened but there are still severe delays reported with congestion back to Junction 4 at Orpington and queues on the A2 inbound at Darenth Interchange.

There are further delays through Dartford, Bean, Bluewater, and Greenithe.

Kent Police confirmed they were called to a report of a serious road traffic collision involving one vehicle between junction 1b and 1a of the M25 at 3.23pm.

South East Coast Ambulance Service were also at the scene and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
