Martin Black remanded in custody after man allegedly attacked with a metal wheel brace in Ash

A man has been charged after another man was allegedly attacked with a metal wheel brace.

Police were called to a disturbance in Ash, after reports a man was injured outside a property.

Officers attended shortly before 8.50pm on Saturday, August 4 and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital for treatment for cuts and bruises to his head and body.

A pensioner in her 70s was also reported to have been assaulted during the incident but was not seriously injured.

Martin Back, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested the following day and has subsequently been charged with two counts of assault.

He was remanded in custody when he appeared before Medway magistrates on Tuesday, August 7 and is next due to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, September 4.
