A motorist has suffered a head injury after two cars collided this afternoon.

The crash happened near to the Twenty Mile garage in London Road, West Kingsdown, shortly before 3pm.

It is understood a man may have suffered a head injury during the smash and paramedics and police are at the the scene.

A woman and children in the other vehicle are not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.

The road has been blocked as a result of the collision. It is understood a black car and a silver BMW were involved in the crash.

Police spokesman Sally Smith said: "Officers were called to the scene at 2.55pm."
