Man wanted for Dartford High Street crash found in Tenerife and arrested

A man wanted by detectives after a car was reportedly driven towards pedestrians in a town centre has been charged with attempted murder.

Police had been searching for Bradley Knapp following the incident outside The Clipper pub in Dartford High Street on October 11 last year.

The 26-year-old, who featured in the force's wanted list , was detained by Spanish authorities in Tenerife towards the end of last month.

He was later extradited to the UK, where he has since been charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.

A police spokesman said: "Knapp was detained by Spanish authorities in Tenerife on September 29 and, following legal proceedings, handed into Kent Police’s custody on October 26."

Knapp, of no fixed address, has also been charged with dangerous driving, assaulting an emergency services worker and handling stolen goods following an incident in Swanscombe on August 16, 2019.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates today, where he was remanded in custody to next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, November 24.
