Engineers closed one of the Dartford tunnels so icicles could be removed from the entrance.

Highways England shut the westbound route and all traffic was diverted through the eastbound section while the icicles were cleared and other minor repairs made.

The tunnel was reopened at 1pm but delays of 20 minutes remained until around 2.30pm. Congestion has now cleared.
