Kent County Council's highways team says delays are building quickly on the approach.

Drivers have been urged to exercise caution and allow extra time for their journeys.

Some were waiting for up to half an hour on slip roads and one witness said the collision involved around five cars but wreckage was moved to the hard shoulder.

All lanes have now reopened but delays are still expected.

A spokesman for the police said: "Kent Police was called just before 7am to a collision involving four vehicles on the M25 clockwise between junctions 3 and 4.
