Yoga, street theatre, storytelling and magic shows are just some of things you'll find at a new festival this weekend.

The first ever Ebbsfleet Fusion Festival is on Saturday and will take place in conjunction with the opening of the Platinum Jubilee Park in Castle Hill.

There will be a range of activities for people of all ages including yoga, street theatre, storytelling, magic shows, superhero walkabouts, pop, bhangra and reggae performances.

There will also be a range of stalls promoting health and wellbeing and pop-up street food outlets.

It runs from midday to 5pm.

The hope is that the event will bring together people from Ebbsfleet and surrounding areas through music, dance, food and wellbeing, as well as a chance to show the new Platinum Jubilee Park.

Community event organisers Cohesion Plus are behind the family-themed festival in partnership with Blueprint Arts, and it is supported by the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation.

Cohesion Plus artistic director Gurvinder Sandher said: "I feel that we have created a positive, family focused festival with a wide genre of performances and activities for everyone to enjoy.

"The arts are a great way to connect communities and create shared experiences."

Head of strategy and placemaking at Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, Kevin McGeough said: "We are delighted to be celebrating this local community event which coincides with the opening of Platinum Jubilee Park, one of seven city parks which will form a green grid across Ebbsfleet, creating a healthy place where people want to live, work and play.

"We look forward to enjoying the activities and performances throughout the day, and encourage residents from Ebbsfleet and neighbouring communities to visit and explore all that is on offer.”
