Ongoing work on the Dartford Crossing means another five evenings of disruption and closures

The Dartford bridge is going to be closed overnight because of ongoing maintenance work.

Disruption and closures will continue for the next five days for routine checks, including closing the QEII bridge on Saturday, April 23.

Tonight (Wednesday) and Thursday, the northbound east tunnel will be shut from 8.30pm to 5.30am.

On Friday, April 22, the west tunnel will close from 9pm to 5.30am.

The bridge will be shut off from 10pm to 5.30am on Saturday. Southbound traffic from Essex is being diverted through the east bore of the Dartford Tunnel.

On Sunday the northbound east tunnel will be shut again from 8.30pm to 5.30am.

There will be a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures.

Also on Friday, April 22, the northbound anti-clockwise entry slip road (A282 junction 1a Swanscombe) will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 1b.
