With over 400,000 visitors attending Swanley’s sixty acres of parkland every year, the council reviewed the condition of the parks outdoor paddling pool and splash zone last year, discovering surface cracks in the pool tank and filtration equipment.

Needing to be replaced, an award-winning company, Ustigate, were gifted the contract having installed over 100 aquatic play facilities in the UK.

Ustigate, based in Kent, specialises in the design and build of water features and aquatic play facilities since 1966.

The new installation at the award-winning park includes the design and build of a larger paddling pool and splash pad scheme and a Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group compliant water management system and the state of the art recirculation system will enable the council to sustainably collect, treat and recycle water for their aquatic play.

A total of sixteen products sourced from Ustigate’s long term aquatic partner Vortex International will include a trio of tipping buckets and a combination of strategically placed, sequenced water jets to provide every water player with an incoming spray, whether they be in the pool or on the splash pad.

Ustigate spokesman, Michelle Minns-Sykes, said: "Many of the Ustigate team have enjoyed great days out at Swanley Park and several have described the paddling pool as being the place where many of their fondest childhood memories were formed.

"The company are pleased and proud to be installing their best in play in a place that many of their friends, family and workforce call home."

Swanley’s new and exciting facility with its paddling pool and inclusive splash pad will be accessible to every age and ability and it will be enjoyed by families and friends for decades to come.

Swanley Town Council said: "With the park now seeing 3,000 visitors a day during peak times it has been important for us to respond to this need."

Now offering over fifteen attractions, Swanley Park is home to a large playground, an outdoor paddling pool and splash zone, a sand play area for the under sevens, a cafeteria, an outdoor gym, boating lake, and miniature railway.
