Lightning strike in Longfield halts South Eastern rail services

Passengers walked back to their nearest station after a lightning strike damaged equipment.

Train operator South Eastern said 'significant damage' was caused to signalling equipment in the strike this evening.

It came as heavy rain caused floods in some parts of Kent.

The power was restored shortly after 8pm, although South Eastern said delays would continue until 9pm.
