Pedestrian taken to Medway Maritime hospital after being hit by a bus in Home Gardens, Dartford

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with head injuries after being hit by a bus in Dartford.

Police were called to the collision in Home Gardens, near East Hill, at 11.43am this morning.

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance service were also in attendance and assessed an injured person at the scene..

Ambulance service spokesman Richard Airey said: "Just before midday someone had been hit a bus. We sent an ambulance and a car to the scene.

"The person has been taken to Medway Maritime after being treated at the scene for a cut to the head."

The patient's injuries are being treated as "potentially serious", he added.

Traffic was slowed near the junction with Hythe Street while emergency services attended the incident.

Earlier delays which saw some disruption to bus services 96 and 492 heading towards Bluewater Shopping Centre have now cleared.
