A man has died after being hit by a train.

The emergency services were called to Stone Crossing station, near Dartford, just before 12.40am yesterday (April 6) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Police and paramedic crews attended, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Trains were unable to run between Dartford and Gravesend while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Services had returned to normal by 2.45am and were not impacted further into the morning.
