Man charged with robbery after incident in East Hill, South Darenth

A man has been charged with robbery after attempts to steal a car with someone still in it.

A motorist was assaulted by two men who got into his vehicle, while he was parked in East Hill, South Darenth.

The suspects are said to have got into the car at around 10am but then fled on foot after the victim raised the alarm with passers-by. Cash and keys were said to have been stolen.

James Tullett was arrested on Wednesday and later charged with robbery.

The 35-year-old, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday). He was bailed and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on July 29.

The incident happened on February 17.
