Formed three years ago, the group is hoping to spread to word enough to create two or three new teams in line with the male division at the club.

Dawn Stevens, Dartfordians' women's admin, said: "There is so much more to rugby than just the rugby. It is about the community of the club, the confidence that you can gain and new skills that you can learn.

"We all help each other on and off the pitch and feel we have all developed as a team and as ladies in the last three years."

There is now a younger girls team at the club and the team is holding an event open for girls aged 11 and upwards.

The Fun and Fitness event takes place on May, Wednesday 26 at 6.30pm.
