Residents living near a park and lake are being urged to check their gardens, sheds and garages for any sign of a missing man.

Wayne Parchment, 61, was last seen by a relative in the Spital Street area of Dartford five days ago on Thursday (April 10).

On Friday (April 11), Wayne was captured on CCTV footage entering Central Park from Market Street at 9.46am, and could be seen walking near the bandstand.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare and specialist teams, assisted by the National Police Air Service and Kent Search and Rescue volunteers, have been brought in to help find Wayne.

And they are calling on residents in one part of Dartford in particular to be on the lookout.

Chief inspector Lee Cheesman added: “We are now urging people living close to the park, including those in the nearby Tree Estate, to please check any outbuildings and gardens in case Wayne may have sought shelter.”

Police say their teams are also carrying out checks in nearby Brooklands Lake.

Wayne is described as being mixed race and about 6ft.

He is bald with a grey, short beard and moustache. He may be wearing a pair of black jogging bottoms, a grey top, dark blue jacket and black shoes.

Wayne often wears a lanyard around his neck with two keys attached.

He is likely to be on foot and may also appear to walk with a shuffle. He frequents areas in Dartford, which also include Lowfield Street and Princes Road.
