Girl from Dartford makes salt dough rainbows for NHS

A 10-year-old bought a family in need a hamper of goodies with money she raised selling salt dough rainbows.

Libby Costin, from McCudden Road in Dartford , began making them in honour of the NHS.

Originally, Libby left her work out for people to take for free, but some began leaving money as a tip.

Libby said: "I just wanted to do something to make people smile when they walked past our house because it was a hard time for everyone.”

She then decided to use the money raised to put together a food hamper for a family in desperate need of essentials during lockdown.

Libby's mum, Annika Costin said: "We are extremely proud of how much she thinks of others all of the time.

"In what was an understandably strange time for a 10-year-old, she was still thinking of others and how she could make their day a little bit nicer."

"Libby has always been a very thoughtful girl. She has the biggest heart."

Libby is now thinking of new ways she can help others, such as donating toys to local children's charities and making more food hampers.
