And it’s good news for those living in the DA postcode areas who are looking to sell up, with the average time coming in at around six weeks.

Of these areas, three Dartford postcodes appeared in the top 10 (DA16, DA10 and DA17).

Nationally, DA16 which covers the Welling and Falconwood parts of Bexley is in the top spot for quick sales, with homes selling in 40 days on average.

Meanwhile those homes in the DA10 postcode on the Swanscombe peninsula - where the London Resort theme park is set to be built, as well as the 15,000 homes planned at Ebbsfleet Garden City - sold in just 42 days.

It was a similar trend in other parts of the Thames Estuary region with homes in nearby Gravesend and Northfleet postcodes (DA11, DA12) snapped up in eight weeks on average - and Medway properties not far behind at between nine and 10 weeks.

According to its database the slowest places to sell your home in Kent are Cranbrook (TN17) and Dover (CT15) where it takes 17 weeks on average for a house sale completion.

Although these figures pale into insignificance compared to the slowest place in the UK which is Lancaster, where it takes more than a year (418 days) on average to sell up.

Other slow moving postcodes in Kent include the Canterbury postcodes of CT3 and CT4, where it takes between 15 and 16 weeks to sell, and Broadstairs in Thanet where the waiting time was also 15 weeks.

Whereas, if you are looking to sell up and move on in Whitstable and Herne Bay you can expect a reduced wait of 13 to 14 weeks.

Elsewhere in East Kent, Sandwich proved a faster place to up sticks with it taking just 11 weeks on average between putting the sale board up and handing over the keys.
