Three charged after shops in Belvedere and Swanscombe ‘robbed at gunpoint’

Two men and a woman have been charged after two shops were allegedly robbed at gunpoint.

It comes after reported incidents at a shop in Stanhope Road, Swanscombe and another near Bexley.

On January 6 a man, said to be armed with a handgun, entered a shop in Gilbert Road, Belvedere and threatened staff before making off with a quantity of cash.

Eight days later, a suspect allegedly entered the same shop in possession of a firearm and attempted another armed robbery but was deterred by staff.

On January 23, two men and a woman reportedly robbed the store in Swancombe and again threatened the shopkeeper with a firearm.

They were intercepted by officers as they made off with goods, arrested and taken into custody.

Three people, all from Dartford, have now been charged with conspiracy to rob.

A police spokesman said: “No shots were fired in any of the incidents.

Stephen Hand, 26, of Thames Road, Alexander Emmerich, 26, also of Thames Road and Hannah Sims, 28, of Medway Road are due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday).
