Delays on M25 near Dartford Crossing after lorry sheds load

There were long delays on the Dartford Crossing this morning due to a lorry shedding its load.

It happened at around 9.30am on the M25 southbound exit slip road near Junction 1b of the A296 Princes Road Interchange in Dartford.

National Highways says the slip road was closed for around two hours while clean-up operations took place.

There were previously delays of an hour, and five miles of congestion from Junction 29 of the M25 on the Essex-side near Lakeside shopping centre..

The road had reopened by 11:30am.
