The 125-room site has created new jobs in the area and it is hoped it will prove attractive to commuters, shoppers and tourists as it is a 15-minute walk to the nearest railway station, Stone Crossing, and also within short driving distance of Bluewater and Lakeside.

In the next few months, it will be undergoing a full refurbishment and will have a “new look and feel design”.

The chain has more than 600 hotels across the UK, with 15 others in Kent.

UK development director at Travelodge Tony O’Brien said: “We’re thrilled to open our newest hotel at Dartford Crossing.

“This is a key location for commuters, shoppers, and tourists alike, and our new hotel will offer a convenient base with great value for money.

“As we continue to grow our network, with over 600 hotels across the UK, Ireland and Spain, openings like this allow us to serve even more communities and travellers across the country with comfortable, budget-friendly accommodation.”
