Two people have been seriously injured after their car veered off the road and hit a lamp post before crashing into a ditch.

Two crews from Dartford fire station used hydraulic equipment to cut the man and woman, thought to be in their mid-20s, from the red Peugeot.

It happened just before the Dartford Heath turn off on the A2 London-bound carriageway at about 5am on Sunday, March 27.

Fire crews were there for about an hour. The pair were taken to a London hospital by ambulance.

Kent Police are investigating.
