Crash on A282 near Dartford Tunnel causes delays back to M20 junction 3 Swanley

Miles of tailbacks are being reported at the Dartford Crossing this morning following a two-vehicle smash.

It involved a lorry and car and happened on the A282 on the approach to the tunnel and close to the Darenth Interchange.

The road was blocked for around 40 minutes following the crash at 7.30am.

As a result, traffic is backed up all the way to the junction with the M20 for Swanley.

It was reported to police and Highways Officers attended the crash.

A spokesman for police said: "Kent Police was notified at around 7.30am on Wednesday, September 4 of a collision involving a lorry and a car on the A282 at Dartford."

It is not believed anyone was injured and Highways officers attended the scene.
